Privacy and data use
Waste Pin uses Supabase for accounts, application data and team access. Your account and team data are separate from the public blog. Published articles and coordinates marked public are public.
Location and account data
The application processes account details, reports and coordinates you provide. Browser location requires your permission. Public coordinates, publication times, company names and publishing display names are visible to everyone; any visitor can plan a route. Account emails, personal profile locations, invitations and membership records are not public. Companies may restrict their own points to their team. Individuals publish publicly. Sharing settings affect existing and future company points; imported public points remain public. Copies already viewed or saved cannot be recalled.
Existing analytics and mapping services
The website currently loads PostHog for product analytics and experiments, and Meta Pixel for visit measurement. These services may use browser storage or cookies and receive visit and device information. Signing in identifies your account ID to PostHog. Maps use external tiles and route calculations use OSRM; relevant network requests and route coordinates are sent to those services. The current application does not upload report photos. Illustrations of photos, vehicle assignment and impact reports describe planned features.
Browser storage
The application stores your sign-in session and language preference in your browser. You can sign out to end local access. Public information remains readable without JavaScript; the application requires JavaScript.
